HENNIKER – The Concord High girls’ Alpine ski team has been propelled by the 1-2 punch of Mika Taylor and Ellie Worster all season long, but a collision early in a day threatened to rob the Crimson Tide of that advantage.

The Hopkinton High girls’ ski team knew that defending its Division III Alpine state title wouldn’t be easy and that Gilford was going to be the team to beat. The Hawks skied well, but in the end, the Eagles were just a little better.

HOOKSETT – The Bishop Brady-Trinity-Bow girls’ hockey team has been rolling past its competition all season. The Bishop Brady-Trinity cooperative team added Bow to its squad this year, while Londonderry left the program, and it has maintained continuity while building upon the lessons learned last season.

NORTHWOOD – Injuries and a season-long string of illnessess continue to hamper the Coe-Brown girls’ basketball team, which has struggled to settle on a consistent rotation of players. The Bears lost their most recent game to Lebanon, 49-40, on Tuesday night, them to 6-5 on the season.

Even with snow coming, Black Ice Pond Hockey Championship slated for outdoors after two years inside

Spanning three days, six ice rinks, and eight divisions, the 14th annual 1883 Black Ice Pond Hockey Championship and Winter Festival will bring together hockey players from around the state this weekend for several days of competition and celebration. Even with snow in the forecast on Thursday and Sunday, Chris Brown, founder of the 1883 Black Ice Hockey Association, says the games will go on.
