Boys’ Soccer

Concord 3, Timberlane 3

Key players: Concord – Irankunda Mvuyekure (2 goals, assist), Dean Ayotte (goal), Sammy Iranzi (assist), Festo Bahininwa (8 saves), Sadiki Rumbukuzi (midfield)

Highlights: Ayotte scored to open the match, which was 3-3 at halftime before both teams locked down in the second half.

Coe-Brown 3, Kingswood 2

Key players: Coe-Brown – Brady Colgan (2 goals), Tommy Maskwa (goal), James McKane (assist), Steve Phillips (6 saves)

Highlights: Down 2-0 midway through the first half,  Colgan bent a 22-yard free kick over the wall into the upper corner, which began the comeback.

Key players: Hopkinton – Nolan Linstad (2 goals), Kristof Cauley (goal, assist), Fin Murphy (goal), Sawyer Zipke (assist), Noah Aframe (assist)

Highlights: West tied the game, 1-1, in the 48th minute, but the Hawks responded with three goals in an eight-minute span to secure the victory.

Coach’s quote: “Nice response by the Hawks today after West tied the game in the second half. Aframe played a key role in the second half resurgence, launching dangerous throw-ins to the goal mouth that were finished off for our second and third goals. Linstad then bookmarked his first goal with our fourth goal – both goals being hardworking goals inside the box. Highlights: Van Dyke was part of three goals in a span of five minutes early in the first half. Murphy finished the scored in the second half off of a great cross from Gelinas. Becirovic finished the scoring, beating the keeper up high near post with a well-placed shot.

Highlights: Wooten put the Cougars on the board at 13:53 in the first quarter, putting away a rebound off a shot taken by teammate Ava Valle. Kearsarge led 1-0 at halftime, but the Giants scored a pair of goals in the third quarter and Bryson added an insurance tally in the fourth.
