A high-speed chase that began Wednesday night spanning multiple towns ended Thursday morning with the arrest of a Merrimack man who police say evaded capture after officers deflated his tires twice.

Eric Dearborn, 35, of Merrimack, faces charges of disobeying an officer, reckless operation and resisting arrest.

The pursuit began late Wednesday night around 11 p.m. when police from Hillsborough, Henniker, and Hopkinton attempted to stop Dearborn for speeding on Route 202/9.

Instead of pulling over, Dearborn continued driving his 2015 Toyota Tundra east on Route 77, heading into Weare and toward Dunbarton.

At the intersection of Routes 77 and 13, State Trooper Kyle Cotnoir deployed spike strips, successfully deflating one of the truck’s tires, state police said in a press release.

Police said Dearborn continued to flee, weaving through Bow, Concord and back to Bow before heading north on Interstate 89.

Near mile marker 6, just before the Hopkinton town line, a Hillsborough police officer deployed spike strips a second time, further damaging the truck’s tires and bringing it to a halt.

Police said Dearborn then fled into the woods. A passenger in the vehicle was detained on the spot.
