Boys’ Basketball

Bow 64, Laconia 57

Key players: Bow – Jake Reardon (22 points, 6 rebounds), Peyton Larrabee (14 points, 9 rebounds); Laconia  – Matt Robinson (18 points), Caden Tucker (14 points)

Highlights: The Falcons held Laconia to only 33 points through three quarters, but allowed them to get back in the game, giving up 24 in the fourth.

Merrimack Valley 71, ConVal 53

Key players: MV – Ethan Dukette (20 points), Aiden Gray (17 points, 4 rebounds), Nic Oglesby (15 points, 6 rebounds), Boston Bradicich (7 points, 15 rebounds); ConVal – Ryan Close (20 points)

Highlights: MV came out with great defensive intensity, taking an 11-point lead after the first quarter. The lead was stretched to 45-26 at halftime and the Pride maintained a lead of around 20 for the rest of the game. MV has sole possessin of first place in the Division II standings.

Highlights: Campbell jumped on Kearsarge early with easy baskets and hot shooting to take a 20-13 lead after the first quarter and 38-21 at halftime, handing Kearsarge its first loss of the season. Kearsarge made some changes and mounted a strong comeback in the second half, cutting the lead to nine points a few different times, but ran out of gas.

Highlights: Six Hillcats fouled out and Newfound made a run late in the game to force overtime, but the H-D bench players stepped up to help H-D secure its first win of the season. The score was tied 63-63 at the end of regulation.

Highlights: The Giants trailed 14-0 at the end of the first quarter, but fought back to take a 26-25 lead through three quarters. Bryson scored 10 of her game-high 19 points in the third quarter to help Brady take the lead and the Giants poured in 18 points in the fourth (including nine from Jackson) to snap a four-game losing streak.

Highlights: The Knights led by 8-10 points multiple times in the game, but a full court press by Coe-Brown with five minutes left eventually paid off when the Bears took the lead with 1:45 remaining.

Highlights: H-D trailed 14-8 at halftime, but made some adjustments at halftime, scoring 15 in the third quarter to take a 23-19 lead. The Hillcats held Newfound to just two points in the fourth quarter to secure their second win of the season.

Highlights: Kearsarge came out aggressively and jumped to a 16-4 lead after the first quarter and 24-5 at halftime.

Boys’ Hockey

Concord 5, Bishop Guertin 1

Key players: Concord – Tyler Morin (2 goals), Nolan Walsh (goal, assist), Trevor Craigue (goal), Austin Proulx (1st career goal), Chad Lariviere(2 assists), Lukas Rondiak (2 assists), Jaden Haas (assist), Rowan Arndt (assist), Finn Gfroerer (assist), Carter Heise (20 saves)

Highlights: BG dominated a scoreless first period and scored a shorthanded goal 1:30 into second to take 1-0 lead, but the Tide rattled off five unanswered goals. Walsh’s goal tied the game and Morin scored on the power play to give Concord a 2-1 lead. The Tide opened it up in the third on goals by Proulx, Morin and Craigue.

Highlights: Stevens won the slalom by 1.44 seconds and the giant slalom by nearly 3 seconds to sweep the individual standings in an eight-team race at Gunstock. Gilford won both the slalom and GS events to top the team standings comfortably.

Highlights: Athletes from Concord and Coe-Brown competed at the East Coast Invitational in Providence, R.I., this weekend, a meet that featured 80-plus teams from all over New England. Nyhan won the pole vault by over a foot.
