Highlights: The Giants defeated a tough Cougar team in a rain-soaked field at Rollins Park. Bedard drove Thomas home for an early 1-0 lead in the first inning and Brady tacked on two more in the third on a two-run single from Thresher. Campbell scored a pair of runs in the sixth to cut the Giants’ lead to 5-4, but Thornton shut out the Cougars from there and Brady scored an insurance run.

Highlights: The Hawks jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and the Cougars tallied one in response to make it 2-1 after the first. Hopkinton kept the pressure on and went up 6-1 at half and 8-1 to end the third. Kearsarge worked hard in the fourth to answer back with some goals. Both teams cleared the ball well and had stalwart defense and goaltending on Thursday.
