Deerfield, NH — The New Hampshire Farm, Forest, and Garden Expo returns this spring, promising an exciting blend of agriculture, education, and family fun.

Scheduledfor Friday, May 3, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Expo will take place at Gate E of the Deerfield Fairgrounds.

This 41st annual event celebrates the rich heritage of New Hampshire’s agricultural community while providing invaluable resources and entertainment for all ages. From industry experts offering consultations on farming, forestry, livestock, gardening, health, beekeeping, and more, to a bustling array of activities and competitions, the Expo offers something for everyone.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of agriculture with live demonstrations of running machinery, a team of oxen in action, and a delightful assortment of barnyard animals ready for petting. For those seeking a nostalgic experience, free horse-drawn wagon rides will be available throughout the event.

In addition to informative exhibitors, and retail sales, attendees will have access to a free workshop series covering a wide range of topics relevant to the agricultural community. From raising poultry to pest control, natural wool dyeing to agritourism insurance, wash packs, managing stress for farmers to social media strategies, there’s something for every interest and need.

Families are encouraged to explore the Agricultural Discovery Zone, where kids can engage in hands-on learning activities designed to foster an appreciation for farming and nature. Additionally, the Expo proudly hosts the 4H’s Grillmaster Competition, Dark Horse’s Woodsman Competition, and the FFA Floral Arrangement CDE, showcasing the talent and dedication of local youth in agriculture-related pursuits.

Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the artistry of rug braiding and weaving through captivating demonstrations, providing insights into traditional crafts deeply rooted in New Hampshire’s cultural heritage.

The festivities rise on Friday afternoon with the prestigious Industry Awards Ceremony, honoring individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the agricultural community. It’s a day to celebrate achievements and inspire future endeavors in the field of agriculture.
