BASKETBALLClippers sign free agent Speights

The Clippers signed free agent Marreese Speights, who played on Golden State’s NBA championship team a year ago.

The 28-year-old center-forward averaged 7.1 points and 3.3 rebounds in 72 games for the Warriors last season, while hitting a career-high 24 3-pointers. During their title run a year ago, he averaged a career-best 10.4 points and 4.3 rebounds.

HOCKEYDucks re-sign Holzer for 1-year

Defenseman Korbinian Holzer agreed to a one-year, $700,000 deal to return to the Anaheim Ducks.

The Ducks announced the deal Tuesday.

The German defenseman played 29 games for Anaheim last season, recording three assists. He was a frequent healthy scratch, and he also played for the Ducks’ AHL affiliate in San Diego.

OLYMPICSDrug probe results to be released

The results of the latest investigation into Russian doping will be released Monday.

Canadian lawyer Richard McLaren will hold a news conference in Toronto to present the findings of his probe into alleged manipulation of doping samples in Russia.

McLaren was appointed by the World Anti-Doping Agency to investigate allegations of a state-backed doping conspiracy involving the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Grigory Rodchenkov, the former head of Moscow’s drug-testing laboratory, told the New York Times he provided Russian athletes with steroids ahead of the Olympics and helped switch tainted samples for clean ones through a concealed hole in the wall of the Sochi lab.

OLYMPICSContador to miss Rio Olympics

Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador will miss the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro because of injuries that forced him to abandon the Tour de France.

“Making it to Rio is practically ruled out,” Contador said Tuesday. “The question isn’t whether I am recovered or not, but rather if I could arrive in prime condition.”

Contador, a two-time Tour winner, says he hopes to recover in time to compete in the Spanish Vuelta on Aug. 20.

With seven Grand Tour titles, Contador is one of the top riders of his generation.

The Olympic road race is scheduled for Aug. 6.
