The person who was found dead at the scene of a fire in Weare early Tuesday morning did not die from fire-related causes, according to the N.H. Office of the State Fire Marshal in a press release.

The death is not being investigated as a criminal matter, according to Weare Police Captain Frank Hebert

The identity of the victim found at 77 Sewell Hoyt Road is pending, the fire marshal’s release said. The state fire marshal’s office, along with the Weare fire and police departments, are continuing to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.

The Weare fire department was called to the single-family home around 1:13 a.m., and found “heavy fire” at the time, the department said. The home was reduced to rubble.

Firefighters from multiple surrounding communities responded to help or cover the town’s fire stations. Weare police and Capital Area Mutual Aid also helped at the scene.
