The owners of Concord’s South Street Market want you to know that their corner store, which has been part of the city for close to a century, is not closing even though it is for sale.

The building holding the store and four apartments was listed for sale this week.

The owners, Jim and Robyn Bashios, emphasized that South Street Market would stay open as usual with its regular hours as they determine interest in buyers.

The market at the intersection of South and Thorndike streets was founded before World War II by Spiro Bashios, who emigrated from Greece. It was run by his son, the late Peter Bashios, for decades until Jim and Robyn took over.

The sale price is listed at $800,000 without the market. An option to purchase the business, including equipment such as a walk-in cooler and the inventory, is listed at $300,000.
