As a student, parent and educator, I am not in favor of publicly-funded vouchers. By continuing the voucher program, we are continuing to erode the effectiveness of our public education system. If we have a bipartisan committee reviewing publicly-funded curriculum standards, our public education should suffice for all of our children. That is, with the exception of parents who choose to home-school to protect their student from bullying or harassment. Those protections should be resolved separately from the issue of school funding.

The buyer looking to purchase Andy Sanborn’s Concord Casino wasn’t just planning to buy the small gaming business — they were set to purchase The Draft downtown sports bar along with the approvals he received to build a new 43,000-square-foot betting and entertainment venue off Loudon Road.
How refreshing to read about Tesla’s construction of a battery manufacturing site covering 50 acres in Shanghai. Elon Musk himself is hugely popular in China, where he receives red-carpet welcomes from leaders and is hailed for his business acumen. Beijing was eager to welcome Tesla car manufacturing, experts say, partly to jump-start its own domestic electric vehicle industry and supply chain. That effort worked: Tesla now faces steep competition from domestic carmakers such as BYD, which outpaced it in EV production in 2024. Tesla ranked only 10th among car brands in Chinese sales numbers last year, according to the China Passenger Car Association. Now, why didn’t Tesla construct that manufacturing site here in the United States of America? How many jobs did that create, from mining raw materials to shipping to the U.S.? Good to know that the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai is helping make American great again.

A deck over the riverbank with room for picnics, benches and food trucks. A slatted, undulating wood architecture creating a “gateway to the mountains” that arches over the interstate.
