Boys’ Lacrosse

Bow 13, John Stark 1

Highlights: The Falcons led 3-1 at halftime and came out strong in the third quarter with a few quick goals to pull away thanks to strong transition offense, tough defense and consistent play from the faceoff unit.

Highlights: MV was down 6-3 at the half and 8-3 at the beginning of the third quarter, but the Pride came back to force OT on Monday.

Highlights: Kearsarge’s defense played especially well, limiting Stevens to just two scoring opportunities. The Cardinals only allowed three goals in the first quarter thanks to some impressive goaltending.

Highlights: Concord fought back and came within a goal in the third quarter, but the Purple Panthers pulled away late in the game.

Highlights: Hannah Perkins had seven ground ball controls, and Mucci and DeCew directed the draw to their teammates, allowing Stark to control possession. Lauren Williams had her first varsity save in goal.

Highlights: The Pride won a competitive game where both teams had plenty of scoring opportunities.

Highlights: The Hawks were able to control the draw from the start of the game and the offense made good use of the possession to extend their lead throughout the game, and the defense and goaltending held the Kingsmen to a single goal in each quarter.

Highlights: Sheppard tossed a five-inning perfect game and the Brady bats came alive. The top three in the Giants’ batting order – Thomas, Gaudreault and Guerra – combined for seven of Brady’s 10 runs, while Bedard hit well in the cleanup role.

Highlights: The Generals scored runs in the first three innings and five over the final two to put the game away. Philibotte led the way on the mound and at the plate for Stark.

Highlights: Underhill broke Belmont High School’s career strikeout record, fanning his 210th career batter. Underhill came home on Embree’s two-run homer, and Belmont followed that up with four more runs in the second inning and seven runs in the fourth inning. The Raiders did a good job driving up the pitch count, forcing Lebanon to pull its starting pitcher after just two innings. The victory also gave coach LeBlanc his 150th career win.

Highlights: Hopkinton led 2-1 but exploded for some big hits in the top of the sixth inning to add some insurance goals.

Coach’s quote: “Excellent performance on the mound from Mike having zero walks and striking out 10 across seven innings.  His composure was unwavering even when Hillsboro had runners in scoring position and he was able to pitch his team out of the jam.  On offense, eight different Hawks had a hit for us today, with (Isaac) Price leading the way, collecting his first two hits and RBI off the season.

Highlights:  The Falcons bounced back from a 13-0 shutout loss to MV with their highest run total of the season in a commanding victory over the Spartans.

Highlights: Valley opened the game with six runs in the first inning and two more in the second to go up 8-2. The Pride plated nine more runs in the sixth inning to close out the game.

Highlights: The Hawks played well overall, but some mid-game errors let the Hillcats get back into the game. Johnson only allowed two hits over the last three innings.
