We know who President Trump has nominated to be his top officials. Although Fox News commenter Pete Hegseth’ confirmation was deadlocked in the Senate (50-50) to be Secretary of Defense, Vice President Vance cast the deciding vote. Only three Republicans voted against Hegseth due to multiple allegations made by his former colleagues that he was an alcoholic and womanizer, coupled with his lack of management skills.

Not since 1988, under President George H. W. Bush, has a leader nominated an alleged alcoholic and womanizer to head the Department of Defense. However, his nomination was withdrawn by the President due to multiple backboned Republicans voicing their opposition.

Unfortunately, today only a handful of Senate Republicans are able and willing to put our country’s best interests before their own party and before Donald Trump’s interests out of fear of retribution. Several have even said that Hegseth is the perfect candidate to oversee an $850 billion agency. Sadly, The Make America Weak Again (MAWA) Republicans have taken over the GOP.
