Letter: Landfill hogwash

Gov. Ayotte has proposed a moratorium on landfills for a year. Whoopy de do. That does absolutely nothing to address the current or long-range situation of our landfills. In reality, nothing will be done, and New Hampshire will continue to accept 40% of the waste in our landfills to come from other states. Gov. Ayotte’s statement is meaningless. Waste from other states is the real threat to our current landfills. What is so hard about telling other states to keep their trash? If the governor really does not want to pollute New Hampshire any more than necessary, just cut the crap, literally, from coming to our state in the first place.
