There are no Brown Shirts or SS troops. Instead, there are ICE officers and Border Patrol agents taking people from their homes and places of employment, transporting them to places of confinement. Not Jews, but people with darker skin who may speak limited English, removed from their families and friends. Some may have a criminal past, but they are now being held without formal charges without access to legal representation. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, have been law-abiding, hard-working, tax-paying residents for many years.

What other name would you give a prison facility for 30,000 people — perhaps minus the gas chambers — but a concentration camp? What we are hearing is this: The military is my military. You will learn what I allow you to learn. I will claim ownership of other lands. Only those loyal to me will fill positions of authority. The written and visual historical record make it abundantly clear that all of this has happened before, and it is happening now, once again, because one man with a “Messiah complex” insists on imposing his will on his country. He has a relatively small cohort of disciples eager to carry out his wishes and a much larger number of officials opting to remain silent, many hoping to benefit politically and financially.

We know from the past that unless Congress and the Courts are willing to stand up, we are about the observe it all again, this time close-up and first hand.
