A late-night car chase that spanned Concord to Manchester ended with four arrests after the driver refused to stop for police, even after multiple flat tires from police-deployed deflation devices, according to state police.
Michael Gruette, 46, of Center Barnstead, was charged with reckless driving, disobeying an officer, multiple counts of reckless conduct, and operating after a suspension. He was also found to have multiple warrants from Concord.
The three passengers with him also had warrants out and were arrested.
A state trooper attempted to stop a 2011 Subaru Outback on Hall Street around 11:36 p.m. Monday, but Gruette refused to stop and continued southbound on Route 3A in Bow, headed toward the center of the town, authorities said.
More troopers were sent to the area, and deployed a controlled tire deflation device on Robinson Road. Two of the Subaru’s tires were deflated, but Gruette continued toward Dunbarton, according to police.
Troopers attempted another deflation device in Goffstown, successfully deflating a third tire. However, Gruette didn’t stop, troopers said.
Gruette headed toward Manchester and Interstate 293, stopping on South Main Street in Manchester, where Gruette and the passengers were arrested, according to police.
