Police: Goffstown man arrested after chase through Bow

A Goffstown man was arrested early Saturday morning after state police say he failed to stop for a state trooper, rammed a police cruiser and attempted to run away on foot.

Richard Greeley, 48, failed to stop at the end of the Interstate 89 northbound Exit 1 off-ramp in Bow around 12:17 a.m. Saturday and sped away as a state police trooper attempted to pull him over, police said.

Greeley drove through town at high speed and was having “lane control issues.” Greeley eventually drove down a dead-end road in a residential neighborhood, put his vehicle in reverse and struck the front end of the state police cruiser, police said.

Once Greeley tried to flee on foot, he was quickly apprehended by Trooper Derek Myrdek and his police dog Ragnar. Greeley was taken was to Concord Hospital for treatment of minor non-life-threatening injuries.

Greeley was charged with several felonies, including reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled drug, possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled drug – subsequent offense. He also faces multiple misdemeanors, including aggravated driving while intoxicated, disobeying an officer, resisting arrest , transportation of a controlled drug, reckless conduct and reckless operation.

Greeley was held at the Merrimack County jail and is expected appear at Concord District Court on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
