■Dear readers, following close to two decades as the Concord Monitor’s “Town Crier” for the Town of Bow, I am stepping down. BRADFORD
■Fire Chief Bryan Nowell reported that the cooperative event of the Polar Plunge on New Year’s Day was very successful with Parks and Recreation and the Fire Department with about 15 plungers taking part. It was reported that the recent Red Cross Blood Drive, held at the Fire Station, was attended by six new donors with a total of 21 units collected. There will be another drive scheduled in May. Watch for details.
■The Fire Department is working through the 2024 budget and is hoping they will receive what they deem necessary to be able to provide the level of service for the community. At this time there are 17 active members of the Fire Department with a couple of members working on EMS level certification. They closed out the 2023 year with about 194 incidents, which is down from the previous year with 218.
■The Bradford Community Church will be collecting linens, paper goods, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent and new pillows for the shelter, Turning Point Network. This is a shelter for survivors of domestic, sexual abuse, stalking and sex trafficking.

■Shaker Regional School District will be holding Kindergarten Registration online for the 2024-2025 school year during the week of March 18 through March 22. Incoming Kindergartners must be five years old by Sept. 30, 2024. If you are unable to fill out the registration online please come to Canterbury Elementary School or Belmont Elementary School during this week from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There are many forms that need to be filled out so please allow yourself 15 to 30 minutes to complete them. ■The Planning Board, with the assistance of the Central New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission, have posted draft zoning amendments. The next public meeting will be for the hearings for each of the amendments, scheduled for Thursday, January 18, 6 to 8 p.m., in the Town Hall. ■The Chichester Youth Association will meet on Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. at the fire station for their monthly meeting. ■When John Stark Regional High School senior Becca Mussey was in a welding class at John Stark this year, she noticed the flowers on her teacher’s desk. While she’s still weighing her options for next year, Becca has been working at Mullhollard Metal Restoration in Weare after school since March.
