Several area athletes qualified to compete in the NHIAA swimming championships at the University of New Hampshire’s Swasey Pool on Saturday.

Division II will start races at 8:45 a.m., while Division I will open competition at 4:45 p.m.

D-I only has one local competitor, but Concord senior Lily Peterson is expected to make a splash, entering as the top seed in the 100-yard breaststroke. She is also No. 9 in the 200 freestyle.

The evening session will have much more Capital Area representation.

The Coe-Brown boys’ team has eight entries, all of them seeded in the top six. Senior Chris Raymond (first 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle), sophomore Shea Raymond (third 50 freestyle, sixth 100 freestyle) and freshman Tucker Raymond (second 100 butterfly, fourth 500 freestyle) qualified individually, and will also take part in the 200 medley (third) and 400 freestyle (sixth) relays.

Belmont junior Kyle Dumais is the top seed in the 50 freestyle and No. 2 in the 100 breaststroke to round out area entries on the boys’ side.
