A woman died in a Monday evening house fire in Raymond.

New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey, Raymond Fire Chief Paul Hammond and Raymond Police Chief Michael Labell said Tuesday that the house at 13 Hummingbird Lane was reported on fire at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

“When the first units arrived, they found fire and smoke coming from a window and door on the driveway side of the single-family manufactured home. Once firefighters made entry into the home and extinguishing efforts were underway, they located a person who was determined to be deceased,” officials reported.

The victim was later identified as the occupant of the home, Lisel Kershaw, 61.

An autopsy conducted on Tuesday, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord determined that Kershaw died of smoke inhalation, and the death was accidental.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office at (603) 223-4289 or fmo@dos.nh.gov.
