After 10 years as the director of operations at Beaver Meadow Golf Course, Phil Davis announced in an email to members that he would be resigning this month and taking a new job with a different organization.

“I sincerely thank all of you for your tremendous support and friendships over the past 10 seasons. It has been a journey that I am thankful for and it has been an honor to represent Beaver Meadow,” Davis wrote.

“I will forever fondly remember my time at Beaver Meadow and look forward to seeing the course continue to prosper for many years to come.”

The golf course is currently working on building a new clubhouse and has argued that the existing one is in enough disrepair to no longer be viable long term. Beaver Meadow has worked with the city to find options for the new building amid push back from citizens and some councilors who are concerned with the $8 million price tag.

The course is still exploring options and it is unclear how Davis’ departure will affect Beaver Meadow’s plans for a new building moving forward. Davis was paid $121,000 by the city last year.
