Pamela Walsh was chosen as the next president of the Concord School Board at the first meeting of the year on Tuesday.

Walsh, an at-large member who was the previous vice president of the board, was selected with unanimous support from all members except one, Barbara Higgins.

Despite Higgins nominating Bob Cotton for the presidency, he declined the opportunity, leading to Higgins’ abstention from the subsequent vote.

Brenda Hastings, re-elected in November for a second three-year term, was elected vice president.

Adding to the board’s leadership lineup, Cara Meeker received unanimous approval and was elected secretary. The board also welcomed new members, Liz Boucher representing Zone B and Jessica Campbell taking on the role of representative for Zone A.
