In “Light and Dark III,” NH Art Association member artists showcase their artistic prowess using a spectrum of black and white, grayscale, high contrast, macabre, and spooky elements. The exhibition mirrors the shifting balance of daylight and darkness that defines the season, invoking a sense of mystery by playing with light and shadow.

“Fashion can be such a creative outlet; it is so fun to bring our community together for an event that celebrates food, fashion, visual art, and music,” says Amanda Kidd-Kestler, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Art Association.

The exhibition features many New Hampshire artists including Cheryl Miller, a Concord-based fiber artist, whose piece, “Raven’s Wisdom” will appear in the show.

There will also be a special installation at the W.C. Gallery at the event, by New Hampshire artist Griffin Ersick. The piece, called Divergence, is a mural installation that explores automatic drawing and liminal space.

The exhibition is on display in the Main Gallery of the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery through Oct. 29. The Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery is at 136 State St. in Portsmouth. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visit nhartassociation.org or call 603-431-4230 for more information.
