Allie Ginwala is the audience engagement editor for the Concord Monitor. She manages the Opinion section and community engagement initiatives.

The Concord Monitor is excited to announce the newest members of our reader advisory board, an initiative that brings readers and community-minded individuals together to talk about local news and how the Monitor can better serve its communities.

We’re delighted to introduce the 2023 Concord Monitor Reader Advisory board members — Adam Czarkowski, Susan Farrelly, Josh Lahey, Carol Lizotte, Audrey Mayer, Lorraine Meyette, Fisto Ndayishimiye, Garth Orsmond, George Saunderson and Glenn Smart.

The reader advisory board launched in 2021 and last summer, applications were open once again to invite folks to be part of the program. Nearly 70 people applied to volunteer their time as board members.

The goal of the reader advisory board is to give a group of readers from the Capital Region a direct link to the newsroom. The hope is that this will give the team at the Monitor a better understanding of what news and information readers, and potential new readers, want and value most. And also to give the readers that comprise the board opportunities to share their ideas, learn about the Monitor and how it operates, and join in discussions with editors, reporters, and other staff.

This group of new board members brings with them a wealth of knowledge, varied expertise, unique lived experiences, and a commitment to their towns and communities and support for their local newspaper. You can get to know our new reader advisory board members at concordmonitor.com/Reader-Services/Reader-Advisory-Board.
