More than 30 New Hampshire artists will display and sell their work in the annual summer member show at Two Villages Art Society’s gallery in the Hopkinton village of Contoocook.

The show, “Communities Gather,” opens Saturday, May 25 with a reception from 12 to 2 p.m. and runs through June 22.

Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public, as are opening receptions. The gallery is at 846 Main Street, Contoocook and is open Thursday through Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m.

All exhibitors in the upcoming show are members of Two Villages Art Society (TVAS), a nonprofit organization that offers exhibits, workshops, and other cultural programs and events.

More than 90 pieces of artwork will be displayed in the show. Exhibitors include painter Pamela R. Tarbell, ceramic artist Karen Sobin-Jonash, photographer Jeff Schapira, knitter Martha Johnson, fiber artist Jules Robinson, and other artists from Hopkinton, Concord, Warner, Meredith, and nearby towns. Their work includes paintings and drawings, fiber arts, jewelry, pottery, and prints.

“We’re very pleased to present our annual summer members show, which gives local artists an opportunity to participate in a group exhibit and share their work with a wider audience,” says TVAS president Larry Morgan. “The work is incredibly varied in terms of medium, style, size, and price point. There is something for everyone, and it’s a great chance to meet up with friends in a space filled with art.”

“Most of these artists have exhibited widely and are well-known as artists and teachers, and some are in the earlier stages of being professionals in their fields,” Morgan says. “They are all extremely talented, and we’re excited to see what they bring to our walls. It will be a lively and colorful exhibit.”

The Summer Members exhibit is juried by a prominent member of the New Hampshire art community. “Best in Show” and “Artist Merit” awards will presented during the opening reception.
