D-II Girls’ Basketball

No. 6 Merr. Valley 65, No. 11 Kingswood 20

Key players: MV – Kayla Smith (13 points, 17 rebounds), Izzy Navoy (11 points), Lauren Bailey (10 points), Jada Lucas (9 points)

Highlights: The Pride opened up a 22-3 lead in the first quarter and led 41-7 at halftime in a decisive preliminary-round victory on Wednesday. MV led 51-11 at the end of the third quarter. The Pride will take on No. 3 Derryfield (16-3) in Manchester in Saturday’s quarterfinals.

Highlights: The Spartans held Souhegan to single digits in every quarter, leading 17-6 at the end of the first quarter and 34-10 at halftime to claim the victory in the Division II preliminary round. Pembroke will travel to No. 4 Oyster River (15-4) for Saturday’s quarterfinals.

Highlights: After they beat the Jaguars last Saturday to qualify for the playoffs with the 10th and final spot, Bow beat Windham again in Wednesday’s preliminary round, coming from behidn twice to take the lead late in the third period on Hartshorn’s second goal. The Falcons will travel to No. 2 Bishop Guert in (15-3-0) for Saturday’s quarterfinals.
