Letter: On guns

So we have nearly 40,000 people killed in the U.S. with guns every year, we have mass shootings in schools, churches, meetings, pretty much everywhere. Democrats in the federal government have been trying to put forward some gun safety laws but Republicans block everything. One bill that will probably have no effect at all on gun violence has a chance to pass now.

So NH Republicans have put forward a bill that says whatever the federal government passes won’t be applicable to New Hampshire. Any sane person would find this unbelievable but that is what our state is doing, not any measures to lower gun deaths but a bill to say if anyone does try to lower gun deaths we won’t go along with it. One might wonder how those people sleep at night. Remember this when you vote next, it could be your children next.
