Concord police arrested and detained a “person of interest” related to a shooting in Healy Park last week that left someone with life-threatening injuries, Concord Police said Tuesday.

Vincent Mott, 33, was arrested Monday on existing warrants and was charged with two felony counts of possession of controlled drugs and falsifying physical evidence.

Anonymous tips led Concord Police to investigate the shooting in Healy Park, near the Manchester Street bridge on Thursday, police said. Initially reported missing, a male victim was found by investigators the following day in a tent in the park and transported to Concord Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He had been living with his injuries for multiple days before receiving medical attention, according to Lt. Thomas Yerkes, but is no longer in life-threatening condition.

Police are still investigating what led up to the shooting and when exactly last week it occurred, Yerkes said, though there is no ongoing danger to the public.

Mott was arrested on Monday and set to be arraigned Tuesday.

This is the second shooting in a city park in recent months.

Also on Thursday, Concord Police announced an additional arrest related to a shooting last fall in Rollins Park.

The October 7 shooting had been the result of what police described in court documents as a marijuana deal gone bad. One person, who had been hit in the head, incurred non-life-threatening injuries.
