Concord man dies at Jenness Pond in Northwood

Concord resident George Chapman, 68, died Wednesday after being found unconscious and not breathing in the water at Jenness Pond in Northwood, according to the New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol.

Authorities believe Chapman suffered a medical episode, fell off the dock into the pond, and drowned.

“The victim was discovered by a family member, who immediately called 911 and began life-saving measures,” Marine Patrol announced. “Emergency personnel continued life-saving efforts once they arrived.”

Chapman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Marine Patrol responded to the scene alongside the Northwood Police Department, Northwood Fire and Rescue Department, the Pittsfield Fire Department, and the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
