Students and staff welcome the opening of new Allenstown K-8 school

Five years after planning for a new school building in Allenstown began and 19 months after builders broke ground at 171 River Road, the Allenstown Community School opened on Friday.
The big day was celebrated with white shirts emblazoned with Allenstown’s eagles mascot, morning drone photos, and a whole lot of excitement.
At an after-school ribbon cutting ceremony, the Allenstown community dedicated the new school’s stage to former Superintendent Peter Warburton.
The 83,000-square-foot school building houses all kindergarten through eighth grade students in the Allenstown. Previously, elementary students attended Allenstown Elementary and middle schoolers went to Armand R. Dupont. Allenstown high schoolers attend Pembroke Academy.
Students got their first glimpse at their new school in late April.
