Letter: Opportunity for change versus more of the same

I have seen, and continue to see, politicians content in their ivory towers. They’re so often the same: people from backgrounds of privilege and wealth that have never known what it’s like to have next to nothing. But I suspect that you, dear reader, know it’s time for someone different. And we do have someone different. Her name is Lily Tang Williams, and she is embattled in the race for NH’s second congressional district. Lily knows what it’s like to not have her freedom. She has faced off firsthand with that slavery of a system that is communism. And her opponent represents well what I so often see in politicians, and worse.

This opponent is elitist. She is from an elitist school and an elitist world and has come to carve her ways into the unyielding granite of our state. And her ambitions, perhaps unbeknownst to her, drag this country deeper into the clutches of the kind of power that is weaponized by the few to control the many. Power that is increasingly unreachable and unanswerable to we the people. Our great state, which stands with crystalline clarity in its position on the topic of freedom, should be represented by a candidate who knows its value. Someone who knows what it’s like to have to risk it all to earn it. Show me that the Granite State’s motto still resonates with the hearts of the people of NH. Vote for Lily Tang Williams on Nov. 5.
