Letter: What a guy!

Regarding the foreclosure business sustained by the state and local government. You quote the party who purchased the mobile home and pats himself on the back declaring the public benefit of his purchase. Property taxes are the most regressive tax in this state and for the most part place an unreasonable burden on those least able to pay.

Make a million bucks a year and pay nothing in taxes to the state of New Hampshire. Make $30,000 a year, pay 10% plus in property taxes, get behind and the towns are allowed to levy a 14% interest rate to your bill. He may be a business man, opportunist or even the nicest guy in the world but there is no public benefit to this tax system that widens the gap between those who have and those who do not.
