Letter: Make your primary vote count

Recent letters have been urging people to “stop Trump” by writing-in Joe Biden in the Democratic primary election. I’m sorry, but I fail to see how supporting Biden in the New Hampshire primary does anything to stop Trump. In New Hampshire, the first step that voters who want to stop Trump can take is to vote in the Republican primary for somebody other than Trump.
Yes, I admire Republicans like Liz Cheney and Chris Christie for taking brave and principled stands against Trump. But to stop Trump we need to vote for a pragmatic Republican candidate, like Nikki Haley, who has a chance of beating Trump at the primary level. Wouldn’t it be better for all of us if the national election came down to a choice of Biden vs. Haley instead of Biden vs. Trump?
