Letter: Time for a new generation of leadership

We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to elect the most Reagan-like presidential candidate we’ve seen. Gov. Ron DeSantis is the only true conservative running for office with an outstanding proven track record. He has delivered on all his promises to the people of Florida. He is guided by core principles, honesty, and is consistent on all the issues, standing with the constitution. Blue collar roots. Worked his way through Yale where he was captain of varsity baseball and graduated Harvard with a law degree. A Navy JAG officer deployed to Iraq. Bronze star. A prosecutor who put child predators away. Elected to Congress in 2012 and served four years and was a founder of the Freedom Caucus.

Elected governor of Florida, currently serving a second term, which he won by a landslide. Weather isn’t the only reason people have been flocking to Florida. DeSantis’s strong policies to support freedom and liberty transformed Florida into an example for other states to emanate. His accomplishments are too numerous to mention, but I challenge everyone to read his biography. Our country will not benefit from an entertainer or an aging man with legal baggage going into a presidency. We need a prolonged state of normalcy, not chaos. We have an alternative: a young, intelligent, articulate, and focused candidate staring us in the face. Trump is for his issues. Haley is for her corporate donors’ issues. DeSantis is for our issues.
