To our readers: A change in holiday publishing

Published: 07-02-2022 2:00 PM

Starting July 4, the Monitor will change how we publish on select holidays.

The Monitor will not be printing and delivering newspapers on six holidays – New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. We will, however, still publish an electronic replica of the newspaper on each of those holidays, minus Christmas. For those who have been subscribers for some time, you’ll know that Christmas has traditionally been the one day the Monitor does not publish.

On these other holidays, you’ll still be able to read the day’s news from New Hampshire and the rest of the world, and catch up on comics, features and classifieds in a traditional newspaper format. The e-edition can be viewed on a computer, a tablet or even your phone. Puzzles and obituaries will not be published in the holiday e-editions. You’ll also be able to follow news updates at concordmonitor.com.

All our print home delivery subscribers get full access to our website. But if you don’t generally use our site, you’ll need to set up your digital account. It’s a quick and easy process and we have details about the e-edition and the setup process online at concordmonitor.com/Reader-Services/FAQ.

We’re making these changes for a couple of reasons. The costs of newsprint, gas and electricity have skyrocketed in recent months. This move will help offset some of those growing expenses. This move also puts us in line with industry trends and it helps us give a day off to our printing and distribution staff.

Thank you for understanding and for your continued support. We know we can’t do it without you!
