A Manchester police officer has been charged on multiple domestic violence-related charges.

Michael MacNeilly, 28, is being charged with six counts of simple assault, and one count each of obstructing the report of a crime/injury and criminal mischief, all misdemeanor charges.

Back on Oct. 18, Manchester police referred the investigation to New Hampshire State Police due to a conflict regarding assault allegations against MacNeilly. The case was referred to state police investigators.

Following a monthslong investigation, state police obtained multiple warrants. On Tuesday, MacNeilly surrendered to state police.

MacNeilly was arrested, and after being processed, was released on personal recognizance bail. He is set to appear in the 9th Circuit Court in Manchester.
